I am a large man 350 Lbs with a shorter inseam. I was drawn to the Atlas X Type because most men’s bicycle top tube is too tall for my inseam length. I really did not want to ride a women’s frame bicycle for appearance and men’s frames are stronger by design. The Atlas X Type is a nice quality bicycle with heavy duty wheel which has performed well under my weight. I live by the beach and the bike has weathered well due to the stainless steel spokes and aluminum rims. The only thing I wanted was the bike to have at least three speeds and the bike is only available in a single speed version. I think at some point if I can get some weight off I will have someone build be a three speed wheel and change out the rear wheel.

I've been commuting with this bike, racking up 10-12 miles per day for the past two years. It's absolutely bulletproof. Rain & snow don't phase it. The gearing is easy enough to handle any hill, particularly if you stand up. Not so good for riding with traffic, as you can't go fast enough, so I stick to neighborhood streets and bike trails. With the huge integrated luggage rack, the bike is as dependable and useful as a pickup truck with two wheels.
