Important note: Never power up the motor
before it is ins talled in your bike forks and the nuts are
tightened firmly! If you spin the motor without the spindle
being secured, you will wrap the cables up into a ball,
severing wires and voiding you warrantee
STEP 1 INSTALL WHEEL/HUB MOTOR
a) Remove old front wheel. (You may need to
disconnect front brakes .)
b) Install a new tube and tire onto Hub
Motor/Wheel. (You can use the set off your old wheel.)
c) Inflate Hub Motor/Wheel/Tire.
d) Check front fork inside distance. Should
be a minimum of 3 3/4" or 100mm. Spread forks to meet this
distance if necessary.
e) Install new Hub Motor/Wheel/Tire onto
bike forks . IMPORTANT! the motor cable must come out
the Right side (when sitting on your bike seat and looking
forward.)
f) Make sure to TIGHTEN THE NUTS COMPLETELY
or wheel could spin in the front forks and sever your motor
cable!
g) Reconnect brakes and adjust them so wheel
spins freely.
STEP 2 INSTALL THROTTLE
a) Remove old handlebar grip. (Tip: use
lubricant - loosen brake lever and use it to push handlebar
grip off if necessary.)
b) Slide Throttle (thumb or twist grip)
(handlebar should measure 7/8" outside diameter onto
handlebar. - unpainted.)
c) Align markings on throttle as desired and
tighten the allen screw.
STEP 3 INSTALL BIKE RACK
a) Remove seat and securing bolt from seat
post mounting.
b) Slip securing bolt through rack and back
though seat post mounting.
c) Replace seat, adjust height as desired
and tighten securing bolt.
d) Remove nuts from rear wheel center bolt
and install
lower rear of bike rack onto protruding bolt
at rear wheel bearing.
e) Replace nuts and re-tightenthem.
STEP 4 INSTALL CONTROLLER UNIT
a) Controler should be placed in top pocket
of battery bag.
STEP 5 PLUG IN AND SECURE CABLES
a) Plug
the cable coming from the throttle
(small 4-wire cable)
into the contoller
unit, the cable coming from the motor
(cable with 3 power
supplywires ) into
the 4 ft. 3-plug cable coming from the controller.
(all plugs are
idiot-proofed - you can't plug them in the wrong way!)
DO NOT plug the
battery cable into the controller yet!
b) Secure wires to the bike at their plug-in
junction points with the zip ties .
c) Zip tie cables up from front wheel along
front forks, then along the center frame rail up to the
point where the controller unit is mounted.
STEP 6 INSTALL BATTERY PACK
a) Undo velcrow straps from battery pack
bag. Weave them through the rack framing and re-attatch.
b) Make sure the keyswitch is in the "Off"
position, then plug battery pack 2-plug cable into
controller.
Note:
ALWAYS turn the keyswitch to the "Off" pos ition
before plugging or unplugging the battery pack!
**BATTERY CARE ** Always charge your battery
pack after EVERY use. Lead acid batteries hate to be
dischaged, and if you run them out and then leave them
uncharged for even a few days - they will be destroyed. Plug
them in after ever use and they'll last for years !!!
